Krissa Fay, MSW

Krissa has a 12 year career in social work, social science and community based research, social advocacy and group facilitation. She has strong capabilities in writing, media relations, promotions and marketing, networking, and oral presentation. Her experience includes extensive work in community engagement as a researcher, consultant, and board member for the Toronto Christian Resource Centreís Asset Mapping Research Project; and the Ontario Womenís Health Network.

She has strong group facilitation skills honed, for example, during capacity building workshops for staff from 23 national NGOs affiliated with the Canadian Health Network. She facilitated 17 successful sessions with multidisciplinary coalitions (e.g. anti- poverty, housing, child care, disability), on behalf of the Social Planning Council of Peel to build support for a collaborative effort on internet based information sharing. The resulting partnership was pivotal in netting the social planning council a substantial grant from the Trillium Foundation.
